Slawn

The work of London-based Nigerian artist Slawn pendulates between street art and abstract expressionism while exploring pertinent issues of politics, race, and identity.

The self-proclaimed “scam artist” likes to play with the concept of reality through large-scale canvases filled with a blend of cartoonish-like pop figures, bold colourful forms, and stylish shapes defined with vivid hues, that beckon the viewer. At first seemingly playful and descendant of street art, it is upon closer inspection that we see the intense human element that Slawn endows to each work, where he explores human psychology, politics, race, and other hard topics and issues still challenging society.

TEONI

Teoni was born in 2000 in Northwest London.. Her craft focuses on romanticising the everyday through documenting the rawest moments we may miss in our face-paced society. Mediums such as oils help to create vulnerable stories through thick expressive portrait paintings. Teoni explores themes of self identity by depicting the stories closest to her so that she can connect more to her true self.

These pieces are all graphics and designs I wish I could put on clothes but never thought would work or got the chance to. Decided to translate some of th ideas in my head to canvas. I express and show insight through religion, upbringing, graffiti, chaos and propaganda.
